Doing Things For the Right Reasons

April 7,2016

I am not the type of person that likes to get a lot of attention. For a long time I never wanted to even post anything online because I didn’t want to act like I was just showing off how great my life was, and brag about all the things that we have. I often felt that when I went on Facebook it was just a show of how great everyone’s life was and what everyone had. I would then log off social media and end up feeling somewhat inadequate for the rest of the day, and I felt that I was no longer being able to see how much I was blessed in my own life, and how good I had it despite the things that I did not have. I didn’t want to covet what others had, and that made me not want to look at the way others live their life.

Then, one day I was talking to my brother about my beliefs on how to raise my children, and about nutrition, and just about life in general. He told me how much he liked what I was sharing and how I should write it all in a book so that when someday maybe someone would ask me how I did what I did, I could share it with them.

I always wanted to write a book, I have tried many times, ending up with hundreds of pages written, but the content seemed unorganized, and the process of editing and rewriting everything didn’t seem for me at the time. I would try and share from time to time a few things online, trying to only share things that hopefully would help others and inspire them.

So today, my hope with this page, is not to just show how great my life is, but to possibly inspire others, and help them feel better when feeling lost.

I come from Italy, and while I always had a really good childhood, I am now living a life that is only what I dreamed of when I was a little kid. I come from a small country. A beautiful country, but I did not have as much as I have now. And I don’t want to ever forget that.

I also want other people to believe that their dreams can come true. I want everyone to know that they can have success, and eat healthy and feel good, and exercise and feel happier. I believe in being healthy and in trying to be healthy not for the short term weight loss, but for a life benefit. I love exercise and good food. I love an organized and clean home.

I don’t know everything, and I will try not to sound ignorant when posting, but I would like to share a lot of the things that I have learned so far and that I will keep on learning. I don’t believe in a one time learning and done, I believe in a life long education path.

I would like to share some of the things that I love also because there is a reason behind it.

I am not a super naturalist, but I believe in trying in small ways to reduce waste, and preserving the earth. Also because I came from a smaller country where pollution and consumerism was a concern, I believe in making it in simple ways. My whole life motto is: IT’s ALWAYS BETTER TO HAVE LESS WELL DONE, THAN LOTS BUT DONE POORLY.

I also decided that I would like to start sharing some of my beliefs because I realized that there is no benefit in hiding what you are learning and what is working for you in life and guarding it like a secret. When you have something that is working great for you and that makes you happy, you want to share it with everyone. Life is not a competition, but should be a journey where we all help each other out making it back home.

When deciding to start sharing what I do and believe in, something that helped me through this process too was the following scripture:

Matthew 5:15-16

Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

This is what i would like my motivation to be as I share what I do and know. I also would like to invite anyone that wants to share some of their knowledge to approach me and let me share in here what they love and know so much.

Having said this, I hope that you will enjoy what I share with you, and be able to feel joy and motivation as you go on in your own life!

Love, M. Serena Essuman
